The Spring 2018 Edition of the GameJam was scheduled for 2018 Mar 8–10. The competition started with a soft start on Thursday at 6PM and a hard start on Friday at 6PM and ended 10PM Saturday evening.
The theme was "Retro Remix". We had about 30 participants on 10 teams.
Congratulations to the winning teams!
- Life on Mars by Jacob Bernard (LukeAndFriends)
- Now I'm Just Confused? by Alexander Wardlow, Scotti Bozarth, and George Gray (unladenSwallow)
- Clyde by Caitlin Gaff, Lily Pratico, Eliza You, Imani Muya, Sam Barrett, Mary Newenhisen (SLICE'M)
Similar to F2017, each team can have at most 2 programmers but any number of other members (designer of graphics, music, sound, storyboard, character, level, etc.). All Taylor students are invited, from any major, not just CSE students or programmers. Freshmen are encouraged to participate. Bringing friends is also welcomed. The competition has a $10/participant fee to help in covering cost of trophies, snacks, and drinks. Meal transfers for Friday and/or Saturday evenings are available, but you must sign up before noon on Thursday, February 22. After the noon Feb 22 deadline, meal transfers will not be available.

|Playing||:||I made the whole thing by myself in this time. I did all the art. Which is hard. I'm really bad at art, so that took a long time.
This game had a lot of UI which ate a ton of the time. I was somewhat ambitious, and I ended up with less content than I would have liked.
Sorry about that. Hope you enjoy it anyway.
Also, it has no sounds. I didn't have time for that. :(

|Game||:||Do Not Go Gently|
|Summary||:||You don’t kill demons anymore. At some point in time, that’s what demon hunters such as myself did.
Really, it’s in the job description.
But, at some point, we all grew lax.
The small fry dwindled—I think that’s what caused it. The kind you could kill with a spritz of Holy Water and a blessed knife went extinct or went into the service of their betters.
All that were left were the looming Demons—with a capital D. The sort that razed countrysides. The sort that preyed upon children, not because they needed the weakest prey, but because nobody could come after them for revenge.
The sort like Tamon—who is in a class all his own.
The demon hunting profession withered. My father and mother trained me. They’re gone, so I’m probably all that’s left.
But I’m all we’d really need.
I’ve traveled far to reach Tamon’s castle.
And tonight, he’s going down.
